Seven Simons - Our first gig ever, performing "Under the Summer" at the Last Friday show at the Museum of Arts & Sciences in Macon, GA, way back when. This show is interesting to watch, since we definitely weren't "there" as a band yet. Soon after this initial outing, it was just Keith (guitarist, singer) and me (bass player). But we stuck it out. We recruited drummer Jeff Sullivan for a brief period, who went on to join Drivin' N' Cryin'. And when Nathan Webb joined as vocalist, it was the ingredient we needed, which changed the dynamic completely, and we truly became Seven Simons. A few drummers later, the band gelled with drummer Mike Zwecker shortly before going into the studio to record "Clockwork", our debut album on REM's manager at the time, Jefferson Holt's indie label, "Dog Gone Records". We went on two national tours, first with A Flock of Seagulls and then an even more extensive coast to coast tour with The Fixx. We had a huge following in Athens, GA, where we lived in blissful poverty and worked various menial jobs, attended UGA (we all graduated!), and headlined many, many clubs up and down the east coast along the way.
